Data Analyst

BrainStation is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join our Toronto team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with our Product, Sales and Marketing teams to drive value and actively contribute to the course content.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to better understand customer behaviour
  • Develop presentations and visuals to be presented to a variety of project stakeholders
  • Using programming and querying languages (SQL and Python preferably), you’ll draw raw data, to clean, analyze and build models relevant to business needs
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and tools within the analytics field
  • Work with our team collaboratively to build industry leading systems

Successful candidates will have

  • 2 years of work experience as a Data Analyst and at minimum a university degree in a quantitative field OR 4 years of work experience as a Data Analyst
  • Deep understand of querying and programming languages (SQL and Python), and visualization tools (Tableau, Matplotlib, Plotly), as well as experience applying various methods of numerical and categorical modelling
  • Deep understanding of machine learning principles and neural networks
  • Practical experience designing and conducting experiments using a variety of tools and methods and can speak to their complexities in a simple and logical manner
  • Experience mentoring and training others
  • A passionate, empathetic, and approachable demeanour
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
